Ranking the 30 best players of the 2019-20 NBA G League season

With the NBA G League season likely to be canceled soon, Rookie Wire took a look at the best players to suit up this year.

15. Josh Jackson, Memphis Hustle

The tryout period for Jackson in the G League earned him another opportunity in the NBA, this time with the Grizzlies. In 26 games played with the Hustle, Jackson posted 20.3 points per game and has since emerged as a key player with the Grizzlies.

14. Henry Ellenson, Long Island Nets/Raptors 905

The former first-round pick posted strong numbers this season, averaging 21.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and three assists in 27 appearances. He had a cup of coffee with the Brooklyn Nets but has since been moved to the Raptors’ franchise.

13. Jaylen Nowell, Iowa Wolves

Nowell has spent the last month of the season in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves but was as one of the top scorers in the G League prior to that. Nowell averaged 21.1 points per game on 43.6% shooting from 3-point range in 26 games.

12. Tremont Waters, Maine Red Claws

Water has become one of the top guards in the G League in just his first year. The two-way rookie was sixth in assists and proved to be a strong leader with the Red Claws and it shouldn’t be a surprise that many believe Waters will eventually earn a standard NBA contract.

11. Dusty Hannahs, Memphis Hustle

Hannahs had a brief stint with the Grizzlies after a solid campaign in the G League. His game has developed greatly this season after adding more offensive elements to his game. He averaged 21.4 points in 37 games to finish ninth in scoring with the Hustle.
