Ranking Texas’ 2020 schedule by game winnability

This season will be a make or break season for Tom Herman. Needing to make it to the conference championship, UT must navigate the Big 12.

What poses difficulty

Head coach Dave Aranda was hired after Matt Rhule left for the NFL. Being the defensive coordinator at LSU for the past four years, Aranda is fresh off a national championship win. His Tiger defense only allowed 21 points a game. If Baylor’s defense can play like LSU’s, Texas is going to be in trouble. Offensively, quarterback Charlie Brewer is back for his senior season. If he can stay healthy, he is a top quarterback in the Big 12.

How Texas wins

It is going to take a lot for Baylor to repeat their 11-3 record from last season. Their win in Waco against Texas was an impressive one, holding the Longhorns to three points until a last-second touchdown. Now, heading to Austin, the Bears have not beaten Texas on the road since 2014. A good team at home under Tom Herman, the Longhorns need to avoid a spooky loss on Halloween.
