Ranking Texas’ 2020 schedule by game winnability

This season will be a make or break season for Tom Herman. Needing to make it to the conference championship, UT must navigate the Big 12.

9. Texas Tech – Lubbock – Oct. 24

What poses difficulty

If quarterback Alan Bowman is healthy, this Texas Tech offense is a lethal one. The Red Raiders were on their way to start the season out 3-0 before Bowman got injured against Arizona and they lost in Tuscon. Matt Wells is in desperate need of a good season in Lubbock and most of it depends on Bowman’s health.

How Texas wins

As is usual with Texas Tech, you are going to need to score above 30 to get a victory. Luckily, their defense will be vulnerable enough in 2020 to easily surpass that amount. Texas has averaged just over 37 points per game against the Red Raiders since Tom Herman took over in 2017. More of the same should be coming this season.
