Ranking Texas’ 2020 schedule by game winnability

This season will be a make or break season for Tom Herman. Needing to make it to the conference championship, UT must navigate the Big 12.

What poses difficulty

The week before the Oklahoma game, Texas has to travel up north to face Kansas State. Just as the Kansas game last season, Cameron Dicker’s last-second field goal was required to secure a victory. The Wildcats are going to be a dark horse team in the Big 12 in year two of Chris Klineman. Hopefully, a game where Texas is not thinking ahead, trap game is written all over this one.

How Texas wins

Staying focused and disciplined. Texas has struggled against Kansas State in their short history of playing each other, only having two wins in Manhattan. The Longhorns were down 14-0 at the end of the first quarter last season, needing a comeback to beat a then ranked team. Coming off their bye week, Texas will need a fast and furious start to get a victory against Kansas State.
