Ranking Texas’ 2020 Games In Level Of Importance

The schedule has its pros and cons, but should be in favor of Texas. Here is the 2020 schedule ranked game by game in order of importance:

No. 9 – @ Kansas

Kansas is Kansas. They have given the Longhorns problems the past few years, but it is still Kansas. Les Miles still has a few years before Big 12 teams should be circling them on the calendar.

No. 8 – TCU

In a revenge game for the Longhorns, TCU more than likely be better than they were in 2019. Since their addition to the conference, the Horned Frogs have beaten Texas six of eight times.

There is little chance that quarterback Sam Ehlinger has a similar type of day against TCU as he did this year, especially at home. Starting the final quarter of the season with this game, hopefully Texas is not in ‘must-win’ mode by this point.

No. 7 – West Virginia

Coming directly after the Red River Shootout, Texas faces West Virginia at home. Last time the two played in Austin, Will Grier broke Longhorn fan’s heart with a game-winning two-point conversion.

Luckily, Grier is in the NFL and the Mountaineers have a lot of questions. It will be important to look good after the rivalry game, but the stretch ahead will be more important for Texas.
