Rams injury report: Ernest Jones held out Wednesday with knee swelling

Ernest Jones isn’t practicing Wednesday due to swelling in his knee, while four others are also behind held out to begin the week

There were quite a few players who got banged up in Sunday’s game between the Rams and Eagles, which is reflected on the injury report to start the week Wednesday. Sean McVay told reporters before practice that five players will be held out of practice due to injury, a group headlined by Ernest Jones.

McVay said Jones has some swelling in his knee so they’re holding him out of practice, but the coach thinks “he’ll be OK” and doesn’t expect it to affect his game status for Sunday’s contest against the Cardinals.

Additionally, Joe Noteboom (groin), Larrell Murchison (knee), Christian Rozeboom (thigh) and Kevin Dotson (ankle) are also going to miss practice to start the week. Ben Skowronek will be limited with some soreness in his Achilles, which is a lingering injury.

The biggest concern is obviously Jones, who’s the leader of the defense and one of the most important players on that side of the ball. He’s coming off a busy game where he had 15 tackles against the Eagles, and they’ll need him again against the run-heavy Cardinals.
