Raiders select Pac-12 QB in latest 2024 NFL mock draft

2024 NFL Mock Draft: See which Pac-12 QB the #Raiders select in Round 1

The college football season is off and a lot of the top quarterbacks were on the field in Week 1. This is one of the better quarterback groups in recent memory with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and countless other options across the country.

Could the Raiders be interested in selecting a quarterback in Round 1 of next year’s draft? And if so, who might be the best fit after the top two names in the class?

In a recent 2024 NFL mock draft done by Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus, he had the Raiders selecting Oregon QB Bo Nix with the No. 7 pick. Here is a quick snippet of his reasoning behind the selection:

Nix’s career at Auburn nearly erased him from all legitimate NFL draft conversations. But last season, he really turned things around and showed an ability to be a future NFL starter.

His first week of this season was an easy one, as he earned a 74.7 passing grade with an 86.4% adjusted completion percentage against Portland. How he fares against tougher competition will tell us whether he can be a first-round quarterback.

Nix threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1 on just 27 attempts. He’s been lights-out since transferring to Oregon and appears to be a lock first-round pick in next year’s draft.

Keep an eye on Nix during the 2023 college football season as he could be a target in Round 1 for the Raiders should Jimmy Garoppolo not work out. And even if he does, the Raiders might want to add someone like Nix who has a ton of upside as a potential franchise quarterback at the next level.
