Raiders ‘constantly contacting’ Alabama WR Henry Ruggs ahead of 2020 Draft

With just one day until the NFL Draft, the Raiders appear to be dead-set on drafting a receiver with the No. 12 selection. But which receiver will they take? That’s anyone’s guess.

Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb and Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy have gotten the most buzz at that spot, but don’t rule out another Crimson Tide receiver as Henry Ruggs III would make a lot of sense, as well. At Bet MGM, Ruggs’ current draft position is set at 13.5, which certainly puts him in play for the Raiders.

We also know that the Raiders appear to have a significant amount of interest in the Alabama speedster. On the latest episode of the ProFootballTalk Podcast, Ruggs said that the Raiders have been “constantly contacting” him ahead of the draft.

The Raiders are certainly looking to get more explosive on offense and Ruggs has rare speed. While he may not be the most complete receiver, his ability to stretch the defense and open up passing windows for underneath receivers can’t be understated.

While Lamb and Jeudy are both safer bets to be the Raiders’ pick at No. 12, don’t rule out the possibility of the team adding Ruggs at that pick instead. Finding players with that type of speed is tough to do.
