Predicting Texas’ starting quarterback for the foreseeable future

Quinn Ewers, Hudson Card, Maalik Murphy, and Arch Manning all have a chance to influence this program for years to come.

With the exception of Sam Ehlinger, the Longhorns have been experiencing inconsistencies at the quarterback position dating back to the Colt McCoy days.

The 2022 season may quite possibly be the first time since McCoy that Texas fields one of the best quarterbacks in the country as Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers is expected to be the best thing since sliced bread. However, he has yet to win the job, and the winner of this season’s quarterback battle will certainly influence the starter for years to come.

Texas’ quarterback room currently consists of three players that have a chance to start or will have a chance in the future in Ewers, Hudson Card, and Maalik Murphy. There is also a belief that Texas has a good chance of landing Arch Manning, which could easily cause chaos in the quarterback room.

It is fair to assume that based on the current state of college football, if Manning were to commit to Texas, a player like Murphy would heavily consider transferring.

Taking all of the craziness and parody into consideration, here is who I think will be the starting quarterback at Texas for the next few seasons.
