Prediction

Flyers 5, Penguins 4

Moneyline (ML)

Take the value with the discounted FLYERS (+120) at home. Philly is just 4-5-1 over its last 10 games but is coming off the win over the Kings and is 16-4-4 at Wells Fargo Center for the season. The Penguins (-143) are a little too expensive entering this rivalry game. They’ve won seven of their last 10 games and are 18-6-1 on the road for the season. They also claimed a 7-1 victory in Pittsburgh in the season’s first head-to-head meeting.

The two teams are neck-and-neck in Corsi For Percentage (percentage of total shot attempts) at 5-on-5, but Pittsburgh has the edge in scoring chances.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Flyers to win in regulation, overtime or a shootout returns a profit of $12.

Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Eat a little bit of chalk and back the FLYERS (+1.5, -222) to either lose by a single goal or win outright. The Flyers are 27-22 against the spread overall and 16-8 on home ice, while the Pens are 24-25 ATS overall and 13-10 on the road. The moneyline is a much more profitable play, but the puck line offers a little insurance and is a worthwhile secondary play.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 5.5 (-149) for a total of 6 or more goals to be scored in Philly Tuesday night. The Penguins are 5-5 against the Over/Under across their last 10 games. The Flyers are 6-4 over their last 10. The two teams combined to top this projection in eight of their last 10 head-to-head games.
