On Sunday night, the Wisconsin Badgers fell 54-52 to the Northwestern Wildcats in a defensive battle at the Kohl Center. The Badgers played from behind throughout the game, but they briefly took the lead in the second half before losing in the final minute.
The Badgers were led by a 17-point performance from point guard Chucky Hepburn and a 15-point game from guard Connor Essegian. Other than Essegian and Hepburn, no other Wisconsin player scored over six points. The Wildcats contained the Wisconsin frontcourt of Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl and forced the Badgers to take tough shots throughout the game.
The Badgers will play next against the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road on Wednesday night. Wisconsin beat Penn State 63-60 in their first matchup earlier this season.
