Beyoncé made Grammys history while she was stuck in Los Angeles traffic, and the internet had jokes

“Where’s Beyoncé?!”

Music superstar Beyoncé found out about one of life’s great equalizers on Sunday night: Los Angeles traffic.

As she won Best R&B Song for her hit “Cuff It” off of last year’s Renaissance, folks attending this year’s Grammy Awards began to wonder why Beyoncé wasn’t the one going to the stage to accept the award.

Well, show host Trevor Noah announced to the crowd that Queen Bey was stuck in L.A. traffic and on her way to the ceremony.

Legendary musician Niles Rodgers got some very deserved stage time to accept his role in creating the song, but Beyoncé’s absence mainly just left everyone wondering what Lizzo said earlier in the show.

“Where’s Beyoncé?”

As you can guess, the internet was aflutter as Beyoncé missed her first award of the night, one that tied her for the record for all-time Grammy wins.

While the megastar wasn’t present, newly minted EGOT winner Viola Davis did love getting to announce Beyoncé’s first win of the night. So that’s nice!
