PHOTOS: Relive Colorado’s wild March Madness upset of Florida

Relive one of the most memorable games in CU basketball history

In an absolute offensive slugfest that ended with KJ Simpson playing hero, the No. 10 seed Colorado Buffaloes upset the No. 7 Florida Gators in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, 102-100.

Friday’s first-round matchup saw both teams shoot over 51% from the field, but no shot was bigger than Simpson’s go-ahead baseline jumper with under five seconds remaining in regulation. After receiving the inbound pass from Cody Williams, Simpson created just enough space to deliver the biggest shot of his college career.

The first-team All-Pac-12 point guard scored a team-high 23 points while Eddie Lampkin Jr. dominated the paint with 21 points.

Colorado’s next March Madness game will come Sunday against No. 2 seed Marquette in the round of 32.
