Dalton Knecht played basketball at Tennessee during the 2023-24 season. He led the Vols to a 2023-24 Southeastern Conference regular-season championship and the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

Knecht transferred to the Vols from Northern Colorado where he played from 2021-23. He also played at Northeastern Junior College (2019-21).
