Florida took care of business Friday night against Miami on the baseball diamond, but Saturday went a bit differently.
The Hurricanes put up a five-spot in the first two innings, giving freshman right-hander Liam Peterson his first taste of adversity this year. The ‘Canes never really looked back, even though Florida made it a two-run game in the fifth.
Kevin O’Sullivan relied only on freshmen arms Saturday, throwing Luke McNeillie, Frank Menendez (debut) and Grayson Smith in relief.
A four-run seventh put the game out of reach, though, and Florida fell, 10-6 to force a rubber match on Sunday.
Here are some pre-game and game highlights from Saturday’s loss to Miami.
