The Buffalo Bills made cornerback Kaiir Elam a first-round draft pick in 2022, giving the Florida Gators their fourth opening-round selection over the past three years. Expectations are high for the young defensive back heading into his rookie season but many expect him to live up to those lofty projections and hopefully he starts strong by shining in his debut campaign.
Elam made a big play in Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts when their quarterback Matt Ryan tossed a nicely-placed pass for second-round rookie receiver Alec Pierce to convert on third down, but Elam got his hand in perfect positioning to record the first pass breakup of his NFL preseason career.
Unfortunately, he sustained a head injury late in the second quarter while crossing the middle of the Bills’ defense, running into a group of his own players. No update on his status has been provided yet. In the meantime, take a look at some highlights from Kaiir Elam’s first professional action with the Buffalo Bills.
