Philadelphia Eagles release former Georgia Bulldog running back

Former Georgia running back misses out on the Eagles’ 53-man roster.

The day of final cuts has arrived, and as a result, there will be several players departing from teams so that each NFL team can have a 53-man roster. Former Georgia Bulldog running back Kendall Milton was one of the departures, as the Eagles had to cut him today.

Milton was an undrafted free agent pickup by the Eagles, who paid a hefty price to sign him. With Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Gainwell, and others on the  roster, he had an uphill battle to make the roster, but he made the most of his time in the preseason. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to earn the 3rd running back spot behind Barkley and Gainwell, as former Clemson running back Will Shipley won the RB3 spot.

Strangely enough, Milton wasn’t the only former Georgia running back cut today, as Daijun Edwards also felt the brunt of roster churn from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The pair of running backs will be looking for new homes, potentially on a practice squad, but at least they will have some solid tape to show potential suitors.

The Eagles still have several former UGA players that UGA fans will be excited to see this upcoming NFL season.
