Peyton Manning has been a hot commodity.

As the NFL world tries to prepare for the upcoming season while navigating through an unprecedented offseason of isolation, former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has been a hot commodity across the league.

While the Colts themselves have brought in a few guest speakers to address the team this offseason, other organizations around the league have sought the advice of Manning.

The Sherriff told Peter King of NBC Sports that he’s either talked to the quarterback rooms of some teams or simply addressed the team as a whole.

“So I’ve done a few Zoom calls. I did the Buffalo Bills quarterback room meeting. Did the Los Angeles Rams full team meeting. Did the Bears quarterbacks. That was kinda my message, sort of, you know, follow Eli’s lead. Quarterbacks, take ownership,” Manning told King. “All these Zoom meetings, right now, the coaches are leading them. My message was to the quarterbacks. ‘Hey, organize your own Zoom meetings without the coaches, just get you and the tight ends, you and the receivers.’ It’s actually an opportunity to even have better communication.”

Manning also talked about some of the advice he gave to the quarterbacks he spoke with, including how he would watch his own tape from a previous season.

“I shared how I broke down film from the previous season. I always watched the interception tape first. Then the sack tape. All the bad things,” Manning said. “You figure out why you’re throwing these interceptions. What drill do I need to incorporate into the offseason to fix that?”

In what is an offseason like we haven’t seen before, it’s wise to seek the counsel of Manning, who has seen just about everything there is from the quarterback viewpoint.

That is when The Sherriff isn’t too busy beating Tom Brady on the golf course.
