Another young talent for a crowded cornerback group.

The New England Patriots have acquired Detroit Lions cornerback Michael Jackson in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick in 2020, the team announced on Sunday. The conditional draft pick will be determined by Jackson’s play time this season, per The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.

Jackson entered the NFL in 2019 as a Dallas Cowboys’ fifth-round pick after a succesful college career at Miami. He spent some of 2019 on the Cowboys’ practice squad before the Lions signed him to their active roster, where he remained until the Patriots acquired him on Sunday. He played one game for Detroit in 2019.

He will join a Patriots cornerback group which includes Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, JC Jackson, Jonathan Jones and Joejuan Williams, among others.
