The Kansas City Chiefs are well-represented in the nominations for the 2023 ESPY Awards.
Reigning league MVP and Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, is up for a pair of awards. He’s nominated in the “Best Male Athlete” and the “Best NFL Player” category. The last time that Mahomes was the reigning league MVP, he won both of these categories.
He’ll have his work cut out for him in the “Best Male Athlete” category with Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Argentinian soccer sensation Lionel Messi rounding out the competition. In the “Best NFL Player” category, Mahomes will go against Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson and San Francisco 49ers DE Nick Bosa.
The entire 2022 Chiefs team received a nomination for the “Best Team” category, which also features the recently crowned NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets.
