Parents of Kansas walk-on freshman Jared Casey had an awesome reaction to his game-winning catch

So good.

For the past decade, the Kansas Jayhawks have quite literally been the worst program in Power 5 football. They’re on their seventh head coach since 2009, and the Jayhawks went into Saturday’s game at Texas on a 56-game Big 12 road losing streak (Kansas’ last road Big 12 win was in 2008 against Iowa State!).

But despite going into the game as a 31-point underdog, Kansas controlled nearly the entire game and won in overtime after a successful two-point conversion attempt that was caught by walk-on freshman fullback Jared Casey.

Just to put into perspective how improbable that moment was for Casey: He never played an offensive snap for Kansas until Saturday. Like, a walk-on from a place called “Plainville, Kansas” broke the hearts of a college football powerhouse. And even Casey’s parents were stunned.

The video reaction from Casey’s parents hit social media on Saturday night, and it was pretty awesome to hear them reach the realization that their son made the winning catch. You have to love moments like that … even if Casey got wrecked in the aftermath.

That’s a moment they’ll never forget.
