Panthers hire Harold Goodwin as assistant HC/run game coordinator

The Panthers have hired Columbia, S.C. native Harold Goodwin.

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales is bringing in a local product to help lead his team.

As announced on Tuesday evening, the Panthers have hired Harold Goodwin as their new assistant head coach and run game coordinator. The Columbia, S.C. native has nearly two decades’ worth of experience on the NFL sidelines.

That experience started in 2004, as an assistant offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears. He’d then serve as the offensive line coach and quality control coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2007 to 2011 and the offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2012.

Goodwin then made the jump to the role of offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals in 2013. He spent five seasons under head coach Bruce Arians in that role, a run that included a pair of playoff appearances.

Arians then brought Goodwin over with him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his assistant head coach and run game coordinator in 2019. He worked in those positions through the 2023 campaign.
