The Carolina Panthers will be facing one of the most productive passing offenses in football on Sunday. So, with a banged-up secondary in tow, they’ve called up some much needed reinforcements.
As announced by the team on Saturday afternoon, cornerback Dicaprio Bootle and safety Matthias Farley have been moved from the practice squad to the active roster. The call-ups for the Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings are standard elevations.
Bootle, who has now been elevated for a second straight week, was signed to the practice squad back on Sept. 9. He first broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.
The University of Nebraska product went on to appear in seven games for the Chiefs between 2021 and 2022. He played in 27 snaps on special teams in last Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Farley joined Bootle on the practice squad a little over a week later on Sept. 19. The Charlotte, N.C. native has played seven seasons in the NFL, picking up 18 starts over 100 games.
