Not much was known about the status of Carolina Panthers defensive end Henry Anderson when he missed the Week 7 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back on Oct. 23. He did, however, provide the details upon his return this afternoon.
After Wednesday’s practice session, Anderson revealed to reporters that he suffered a minor stroke. The 31-year-old said it happened on the Saturday before the game against the Buccaneers.
“But I’m all good,” he said. “It was minor and got it resolved pretty quickly.”
Anderson added that he experienced numbness and a loss of feeling in his extremities. Thankfully, he’s now ready to put the scary event behind.
“It was definitely something I wasn’t expecting,” he said. “I don’t have any conditions that make me more susceptible to that type of thing. So definitely surprised me. But like I said, got pretty luckily. The trainers and the medical staff and the doctors in the hospital did an outstanding job, and I was able to avoid any major issues.”
The seventh-year veteran was designated to return to practice today following his stint on the reserve/non-football injury list.
