Panthers cut OL Cameron Erving, 2 others to get to 53-man roster

The Panthers have cut OL Cameron Erving, CB Greg Mabin and DL Taylor Stallworth to reach their initial 53-man roster.

The Carolina Panthers made 24 moves leading into Tuesday afternoon’s practice, cutting 22 players and placing two more—guard Austin Corbett and defensive lineman Henry Anderson—on the shelf. So, that left them with three more to make before this afternoon’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.

And now, they’ve made them.

As announced 20 minutes after said deadline, the Panthers parted ways with three more players—offensive tackle Cameron Erving, defensive lineman Taylor Stallworth and cornerback Greg Mabin.

Erving, of course, pops as the most notable departure of the trio. The former Cleveland Browns first-round pick and member of the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LIV team re-signed with the Panthers back in May on a one-year deal.

He’s spent the last two seasons in Carolina, appearing in 20 games with nine starts at the left tackle position in 2021. In his lone appearance of the 2023 preseason, the 6-foot-5, 315-pounder allowed four pressures in just 14 pass-blocking opportunities.
