Panthers confirm GM interviews for 2 in-house candidates

The Panthers will be interviewing two internal candidates for their GM job—assistant GM Dan Morgan and VP of football administration Samir Suleiman.

The Carolina Panthers have officially added two more candidates to their general manager search—and they won’t have to go far to talk to them.

As announced on Wednesday night, the team will be interviewing assistant general manager Dan Morgan and vice president of football administration Samir Suleiman for the opening. Carolina’s intentions to speak with Morgan was first reported upon yesterday by ESPN’s David Newton.

Morgan has been in his current role since 2021. The ex-linebacker and the franchise’s 2001 first-round selection also picked up front-office stints with the Seattle Seahawks, alongside former general manager Scott Fitterer, and the Buffalo Bills between 2010 and 2020.

Suleiman, who joined the organization in 2020, has previously served as the director of player negotiations and salary cap manager for the Panthers. He also interviewed for the team’s general manager vacancy in 2021.

Carolina’s list of known candidates is now up to 11 with the additions of Morgan and Suleiman.
