Panthers, Chargers request interview with Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown

The Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Chargers have requested an interview with Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown for their vacant GM job.

The Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Chargers have requested an interview with New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown for their vacant GM job, reports NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Panthers fired general manager Scott Fitterer on Monday after a 2-15 season. That record normally would have earned the Panthers the top pick in this year’s NFL draft, but Fitterer traded that pick to Chicago last year for the right to draft Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.

Brown, the Giants’ assistant general manager for the past two seasons under Joe Schoen, has been a rising star in the organization and it is no surprise that he is being considered to run an NFL front office.

Before joining the Giants, Brown, 35, worked in the Philadelphia Eagles’ front office since 2017 in various roles.
