Lions gift Jameson Williams picture of Calvin Johnson tribute

Lions gift Jameson Williams a great picture of his Calvin Johnson tribute

Christmas came early for Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams. The team gifted Jamo with a framed picture of his touchdown celebration during the Week 4 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The picture includes a photo of Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson and his similar touchdown dunk celebration.

Not only that, but Johnson signed the photo for Williams, granting Williams’ wish. He mentioned the Lions on Instagram saying, “Can I get this pic framed with Megatron signature?”

Ask and ye shall receive.

Williams may have been fined for that touchdown celebration but it seems to be in agreement that getting a signed photo from the great Megatron more than makes up for a minor fine.

Best photos from Penn State’s one-point win at Minnesota

Check out the best images from Penn State’s thriller of a victory over Minnesota.

No win in college football is ever to be considered easy, but this latest one for Penn State was one of the more nerve-racking games of the season for the Nittany Lions. Penn State did manage to come out on top of the Gophers with a 26-25 win that truly tested the mental strength of the program when faced with some adversity.

From injuries left and right on the turf to having to overcome special teams meltdowns and the inability to convert in short-yardage situations, Penn State dug deep to climb back from a 10-0 deficit and a small halftime deficit to improve to 10-1 on the year, and keeping Big Ten title hopes alive and well going into the final week of the regular season.

Here are some of the best photos from Penn State’s one-point victory at Minnesota.

Penn State will close out the regular season at home next week against Maryland. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network. Penn State can clinch a spot in the Big Ten championship game with a win over the Terrapins if Ohio State is upset by Michigan next Saturday.

Notre Dame Week 13 highlight — Jeremiyah Love leaps it in

Jeremiyah Love leaps his way across the goal line in New York.

Call it the Love Leap.

Notre Dame running back [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] leaped his way into the end zone for the No. 6 Fighting Irish against the No. 18 Army Black Knights. Love caught a swing pass from quarterback [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] for a 6-yard touchdown reception.

That ended a 3-play, 7-yard scoring drive that was set up when the Irish blocked an Army punt.

Unfortunately, it’s scored as a receiving touchdown, so the score does not extend Love’s streak of consecutive games with a rushing touchdown to 11.

Notre Dame vs. Army: First-Quarter Analysis

So far, so good for the Irish.

So far, Notre Dame is off to the start every one of its fans was hoping for in this Shamrock Series game against Army. All you really have to know is that the Irish have a 14-0 lead, but let’s go into specifics anyway because every unit contributed in the first 15 minutes.

The Irish’s defense started out fine by forcing a Black Knights three-and-out. Then, the offense took over, and [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] needed a little over two minutes to lead a drive that consisted of nothing but positive plays and ended with him throwing a 28-yard touchdown pass to [autotag]Jordan Faison[/autotag].

The Knights then went three-and-out again, but the ball never left their side of the field because [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] blocked the ensuing punt, and it was recovered by [autotag]Christian Gray[/autotag] to set the Irish up at first-and-goal. After two runs didn’t go very far, Leonard threw to [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag] for a 6-yard touchdown.

The Knights had better success on their next possession, getting into Irish territory and being aided by an offside penalty by [autotag]Jaylen Sneed[/autotag] on fourth-and-1. When the quarter ended, they were in the red zone. We’ll see how much that makes a difference in this game later on.

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 12

Analyzing NFL Week 12 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

We head into Week 12 of the 2024 NFL regular season after trying to get cute playing all underdogs last week. Let’s just say, it didn’t work out.

The Minnesota Vikings struggled offensively in a 12-7 victory at the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. So, the thinking was that in another outdoor game, this time at the Tennessee Titans, and the Vikings’ lockdown defense, the home team would be the one to back getting 6 points. It didn’t work out, as Minnesota won 23-13, grabbing the cover in the 4th quarter.

To make matters worse, we trusted the New England Patriots getting 4.5 points in a 28-22 loss at home against the Los Angeles Rams. While the Patriots made a valiant comeback to make it close, it was 28-13 heading into the 3rd quarter, and New England was honestly never the right side.

In the final game on our parlay card, we were on the Cincinnati Bengals straight up at the LA Chargers. Cincinnati lost 34-27. The Bengals got off to about as poor of a start in the 1st half as you can have as the Chargers dominated the first 30 minutes, although Cincinnati did pull ahead in the 4th quarter. However, the Bengals defense couldn’t maintain the lead, and we ended up with a doughnut for the week. Yuck.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 12 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

WEEK 12

Leg 1: COLTS +7.5 (-115) vs. Lions ā€“ 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Indianapolis Colts (5-6) welcome the Detroit Lions (9-1) to Lucas Oil Stadium in an intriguing game.

The Lions worked over another AFC South team last Sunday, throttling the Jaguars 52-6 at Ford Field to easily cover as 14-point favorites as the Over (47.5) cashed. Detroit is 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 8 games, including 4-1 ATS in 5 games on the road this season.

Playing against the red-hot Lions takes a little bit of a leap of faith. However, the Colts are a strong 6-2 ATS in the past 8 outings, while going 6-2 ATS this season as underdogs.

The key here will be if QB Anthony Richardson can be accurate like he was in Week 11 against the New York Jets in a 28-27 win. He completed 20-for-30 passes for a career-high 272 yards with a TD pass, while adding 2 scoring runs, including the game winner late. It was just the third time he has accounted for 3 or more TDs in a single game.

The Lions have a couple of defensive backs, CBs Terrion Arnold (groin) and Emmanuel Moseley (pectoral) carrying questionable tags, while CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (hamstring) is out.

One of the biggest concerns playing the Colts is actually Lions TE Sam LaPorta. Indianapolis has been gouged by opposing tight ends, and LaPorta is reportedly healthy and off of the injury report. He could be a guy we’re cheering against frequently this Sunday.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Leg 2: PACKERS -5.5 (-110) vs. 49ers ā€“ 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The San Francisco 49ers (5-5) are 1 game back of the division-leading Arizona Cardinals in the NFC North, but they’re tied with the other 2 teams in the division — the Rams and Seattle Seahawks. Of course, there is plenty of time left. San Francisco needs a signature win, and Sunday’s visit to Lambeau Field might provide that opportunity against the Green Bay Packers (7-3).

Unfortunately, while the Niners finally haveĀ RB Christian McCaffrey back, they’ll be without QB Brock Purdy, who is sidelined with a right shoulder injury. The 49ers will turn to veteran journeyman QB Brandon Allen to start this critical game. That’s great news for the home side.

While Allen will not have to deal with CB Jaire Alexander (knee), who is out for the Packers, going into Lambeau Field is a tough assignment. The good news is 49ers TE George Kittle is back from a hamstring injury, but you can expect this San Francisco offense to have a slow go Sunday.

The Packers are smack dab in the middle of the playoff race in the NFC, 2 games behind the first-place Lions. They’re just 3-2 straight up at home, though, and need a big win at home. Green Bay can’t afford to lose to San Francisco, another potential playoff team, especially when it is playing without its starting QB.

Leg 3: UNDER 47.5 — Cardinals at Seahawks ā€“ 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Cardinals (6-4) and Seahawks (5-5) square off at Lumen Field, and both teams will be battling the rain.

The forecast calls for chilly temperatures with a 90% chance of precipitation. While the wind won’t be a factor, the rain is likely to limit both of these teams in the air. A ground-based attack keeps the clock moving, and Under bettors love when that happens.

Both of these teams have high-quality tailbacks, too. Arizona RB James Conner and Seattle RB Kenneth Walker III will be more than willing to carry the mail. The only concern in rain games are silly miscues deep inside a team’s own territory, leading to cheap points.

Even in optimal conditions, the Under is 4-1-1 in the past 6 games for the Cardinals, and the total has gone Under in 4 straight games for the Seahawks.

PARLAY CARD

  • COLTS +7.5Ā (-110) vs. Lions
  • PACKERS -5.5 (-110) vs. 49ers
  • UNDER 47.5 (-110): Cardinals at Seahawks

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $59.58 (payout = $69.58).

Arizona State fans storm field with one second left in win over BYU

Arizona State held off BYU in a game with an odd finish

Call it a premature evacuation.

Arizona State fans thought the Sun Devils had beaten BYU on Saturday.

ASU tried to kill off the final 58 seconds of the game by running backward and burning clock.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt finally heaved the ball up in the air figuring by the time it landed the clock would read 0:00.

The crowd stormed the field but the officials ruled BYU had a second left and a chance for a Hail Mary. That would have been problematic because the fans had already had their way with s set of goalposts.

Arizona State held on for the Big 12 win in over of the most odd finishes this year.

WATCH: Nebraska fans storm field following historic win over Wisconsin

WATCH: Nebraska fans storm field following historic win over Wisconsin

For the first time since 2016, Nebraska’s football program is bowl eligible.

Following a historic 44-25 beatdown against the Wisconsin Badgers, hundreds of Cornhusker fans stormed Memorial Stadium’s field to celebrate the program’s feat.

To make matters worse, the venue’s speakers blasted Wisconsin’s iconic theme song, ‘Jump Around,’ during the final portion of the fourth quarter.

Nebraska’s win against Wisconsin marks the first time the Cornhuskers have beaten the Badgers since September 2012. That season, Joel Stave served as UW’s quarterback, running back Montee Ball was in his final season in Madison and Bret Bielema manned the sidelines.

Fans tend the storm the field following an upset against a ranked opponent or collegiate juggernaut. In this instance, Cornhusker fans’ jubilance stemmed from defeating a storied rival and clinching a postseason berth.

For the first time in program history, Nebraska also received the Freedom Trophy, a piece of hardware awarded to the winner of the rivalry game dating back to 2014.

Nebraska dominated Wisconsin in every facet of the contest. The Cornhusker offense ran for 180 yards, scored five touchdowns and averaged 6.4 yards per play.

The only silver lining for the Badgers surrounds Braedyn Locke’s play in the passing game. The redshirt sophomore threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns in his first game without former offensive coordinator Phil Longo.

Still, the loss encapsulates most of the games during the back half of Wisconsin’s season. In a high-pressure situation, the Badgers eventually lost control and played horribly on the defensive end.

UW is now in jeopardy of missing its first bowl game since 2001. Luke Fickell’s program will need a win against Minnesota on Nov. 29 to prevent that from happening.

Arizona State fans rush the field too early in the most chaotic moment of the college football season

This was so close to an absolute disaster!

What is it with college football fans rushing the field too soon this season?

The latest trend in college football feels like the fan equivalent of dropping the ball before crossing the goal line. Saturday saw Arizona State become the third fanbase in the last month to commit the absurd sin ā€” but it was easily the most chaotic.

As the No. 21 Sun Devils hosted No. 14 BYU in a game with Big 12 championship ā€” and College Football Playoff ā€” implications, Arizona State fans thought the game was after running out the clock on fourth down near midfield with a 28-23 lead. In fact, there was one second left on the clock, which meant BYU still had a chance at a Hail Mary to pull off the comeback.

But all of that had to be sorted out while fans were actively rushing the field, creating absolute madness as coaches, players and fans tried to spread the word that the game was not over.

Getting all the fans back to their seats wasn’t exactly realistic. Instead, the officials decided to clear the field as much as possible. Which meant packing fans along the sidelines in a truly bizarre scene.

About 20 minutes after fans first rushed the field, play was finally able to resume. BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff dropped back, bought himself some time and heaved a ball all the way down to the two-yard line. Game over. Arizona State wins. And the fans got to rush again ā€” this time without any barriers.

Thankfully this worked out for Arizona State, but we’ve really got to chill on this trend. Just wait til the clock hits zero before you celebrate a win.

Notre Dame Week 13 highlight: Blocked punt continues strong start

Bryce Young says hello to Army’s special teams with a Notre Dame punt block.

Any concerns about Notre Dame starting slowly against the Army Black Knights seem to have been overblown.

The No. 6 Fighting Irish got a punt block from [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] against the No. 18 Black Knights and were then setup in fantastic field position after [autotag]Christian Gray[/autotag] recovered for Notre Dame.

A good start for Notre Dame, and a nightmare for an Army team looking for a huge, playoff-shaking earthquake.

That said, it’s early, and Notre Dame cannot afford to ease off the gas.

Oscar Delp builds off of statement he made against Tennessee

Oscar Delp made his presence known in Georgia’s 31-17 win over Tennessee, and kept it rolling on Saturday against UMass.

Oscar Delp hit a new high in last Saturday’s 31-17 victory over the visiting Tennessee Volunteers, finishing out with four receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns.

That made him Georgia’s second-leading receiver in total receptions for the night, but their first in scoring, earning him plenty of praise from quarterback Carson Beck as one of his most reliable targets within a corps of pass-catchers that has been notorious from drops this season.

“I thought we had a really good game plan going into it and our tight ends really stepped up. All of those guys made some really good plays,” Beck had said after the game.

“Obviously, Oscar was able to get into the end zone, and on that first touchdown pass, he made a great play on that ball down the middle. But I was super proud of him and the way he stepped up in this game.”

Delp kept that rolling into the next game quite literally with the first Georgia touchdown of the 59-21 win over UMass on Saturday, a 17-yarder from Beck that he took straight to the end zone.

Beck doesn’t see Delp’s sudden rise as a product of anything that he was lacking in previously.

“I don’t think anything was missing (before),” Beck said. Obviously, the play-calling and then obviously, him being the one who was in there. You know, those guys rotated a lot in the tight end room and we have a lot of talented tight ends. But I think he’s just been in the right spot and ended up making the plays.”

And the success Delp has had is a pure product of the work he has put in, now reaping the reward of more limelight after previously flying under the radar.

“Oscar’s working hard,” Smart said. “He competes… and these guys are workers… Carson (Beck) does a good job getting him the ball and I’m proud of those guys’ competitive nature.”

The way Delp tightroped down the sideline turned heads on what was no easy trip to the end zone to make.

“He kind of made that one (on the touchdown),” Smart said. “You can’t say it was a play-action… he broke a tackle and he burst on the sideline and got the ball across the goal line.”

How Delp continues to build upon his 2025 NFL Draft stock will be something to watch as the Bulldogs face in-state rival Georgia Tech on Friday.
