Packers activate TE Jace Sternberger, DL Treyvon Hester from COVID-19 reserve list

The Packers activated two more players from the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday, including an important young TE.

The Green Bay Packers returned two more players from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, tight end Jace Sternberger and defensive lineman Treyvon Hester were both activated from the reserve list and on the field practicing for the Packers on Monday.

The Packers originally placed both Sternberger and Hester on the list on July 30. The other player added that day, kicker Mason Crosby, came off the list on Saturday.

The only two Packers players remaining on the list are long snapper Hunter Bradley and outside linebacker Greg Roberts, although Bradley has been present but not participating during the first two practices, indicating he could be close to a return.

Sternberger and Hester could both be important players for the Packers in 2020. Sternberger is in line to assume a big role as a pass-catching tight end, while Hester is a top candidate to provide depth along the defensive line.
