It’s unlikely that Hamilton (-135) will lose its 4th straight game to start the season. However, there’s no need to pay the higher price on the ML when the Tiger-Cats should cover this short spread with a victory.
PASS on the moneyline, and look to laying the points and/or betting the total instead.
Against the spread
Masoli’s return to Hamilton may serve as a distraction for the Redblacks QB, who will be playing in his 1st game since suffering a leg injury vs. the Saskatchewan Roughriders July 8, 2022. While Masoli will likely be an upgrade over Adams, it should take the 34-year-old QB at least a few games before he starts elevating Ottawa (3rd-worst offense in 2022 with 19.6 points per game).
While Hamilton has looked hopeless this season, it is coming off a bye week and will be playing in its 2nd straight home game. Shiltz should improve after a disappointing performance last time out and lead Hamilton to its 8th straight head-to-head win over the Redblacks.
