Oregon’s 5-star WR Jurrion Dickey receives favorable NFL player comparison

When you look at the Oregon Ducks’ 2023 recruiting class, most people will notice 5-star quarterback Dante Moore and see him as the biggest win of the cycle. While there is a lot of truth to that, I look at 5-star wide receiver Jurrion Dickey as the crowning achievement for Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

While having a 5-star QB is of the utmost importance, it isn’t a new thing for Oregon to have a potential star under center. When you look at the school’s history at the WR position, though, there are fewer standout players to have come through Eugene.

Dickey is just the second 5-star WR to ever commit to the Ducks, alongside Cameron Colvin back in 2004. With that type of talent, Dickey has been drawing some impressive comparisons, including this one from On3 sports in the last week:

“Jurrion Dickey is a productive, physical, athletic receiver with a well-rounded skill set,” On3 wrote. “He’s a multi-level threat including after the catch, similar to A.J. Brown. Dickey is a bit taller than Brown at the same stage.”

Dickey is ranked as the No. 2 WR in the nation and No. 16 overall player in the 2023 class, according to On3, and should he eventually sign with the Ducks, a big career alongside Moore is ahead of him.
