6 Commanders’ players who will benefit the most from a coaching change

These players will benefit from Washington’s coaching changes.

The Washington Commanders look a lot different now than they did one month ago. Sure, the roster hasn’t changed yet, but beginning with new general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn, Washington’s vision is beginning to take shape.

The day after Quinn’s hiring became official, we learned who would lead the Commanders’ offense and defense. Washington hired former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator, while Joe Whitt Jr. followed Quinn from Dallas to be his defensive coordinator.

Quinn’s coordinator hirings drew praise from around the league.

From their responses on social media, some Washington players appear to be happy with the coaching moves.

We look at six players who will benefit the most from the coaching moves.

Three bets and one parlay to make in the Eagles-Cardinals game

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) look to take care of business against the Arizona Cardinals (3-12) at home on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) look to take care of business against the Arizona Cardinals (3-12) at home on Sunday. To make matters more interesting, former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon is also the head coach of the Cardinals. The Eagles are looking to continue being on the right track for playoffs, but the Cardinals still have an opportunity to tarnish the Eagles’ high-seed chances.

The Eagles are (-750) and the Cardinals are (+525) on BetMGM. Check out more bets I have lined up for Sunday’s New Year’s Eve matchup.

AJ Brown Anytime Touchdown

I think the Eagles offense has another good day ahead of them. The offensive weapons should expect to eat today especially since the Cardinals’ defense is below average this season. AJ Brown usually feels like a safety net bet for anytime touchdown, so I’m rocking with him today.

First Quarter O 9.5 Points

I think the Eagles get off to a fast start today. The team is home on New Year’s Eve against their former defensive coordinator’s team, so there will be rowdiness inside the stadium. I think the Eagles strike first with a touchdown and again with a field goal just in the first quarter.

J. Hurts O 251.5 Passing Yards

Part of the offense having a good day comes down to Hurts being able to execute offensively. The team is also fighting tooth and nail to try to keep their first-seed hopes alive (as long as the 49ers drop one more and the Eagles win out. I think Hurts has another great day at home and hits his over on the passing yards prop.

Jenn’s Philly-Philly Parlay (+310, BetMGM)

Money line – Eagles

J. Hurts Anytime TD

J. Hurts 2+ Passing TDs

J. Hurts O 199.5 Passing Yards

Total Points O 48.5

Three bets and one parlay to make in the Eagles-Bills game

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) return to Lincoln Financial Field in a late afternoon showdown against the Buffalo Bills (6-5) in their second and final Kelly Green game of the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) return to Lincoln Financial Field in a late afternoon showdown against the Buffalo Bills (6-5) in their second and final Kelly Green game of the season. The Eagles look to advance to 10-1 in back-to-back seasons, but the Bills are looking for answers as they continue their playoff push.

BetMGM has the Eagles as (-160) favorites, while the Bills sit at (+135) underdogs. Check out some great bets and a parlay below ahead of the game.

Eagles ML (-160)

If the Eagles could beat the Kansas City Chiefs, they should have zero problems beating anyone else in the league. In a perfect world for Eagles fans, that happens. However, we know that will not. But I have confidence they will get another win.

D. Smith Anytime TD (+110)

I was silly enough last week not to say that DeVonta Smith would come in clutch in a big way, so I’m spinning that back this week. I think he gets a touchdown since the Bills are focused on locking down A.J. Brown. With movement in the expansive receiver room right now, I guess Smitty gets it done for the team.

Total O 49.5 (+100)

We really think the Eagles have another high-scoring game. It’s an AFC team we’re talking about, after all—a good one at that. The Eagles will put to the test again and want to come away with some points, and the Bills will take it easy.

Jenn’s Pick Six Parlay

Total O 48.5 Points

Brown Anytime TD

Hurts Anytime TD

Eagles ML

Three bets to make in the Eagles-Cowboys game

It’s Dallas Week for the Philadelphia Eagles (7-1) as one of their next biggest challenges continues. The Eagles are favorites at (-160) on BetMGM to win the mid-day game, and the Cowboys are (+135) underdogs.

Check out my top bets for the NFC East battle.

Eagles ML (-160)

At home. Eagles fans will be riled up. Key players are coming back. I think this is a recipe for success for the Philadelphia Eagles to take this needed game at home.

AJ Brown Anytime TD (-105)

Just keep feeding AJ Brown because he is delivering. An anytime touchdown prop at this point feels like easy money with this guy.

Total Over 47.5 (+100)

The Eagles and Cowboys are going to go back and forth tomorrow. It’s going to be fun watching them put up 20+ points by halftime. I particularly like the over at 47.5 points.

Here’s how the Cowboys pull off the upset vs Eagles in Week 9

Here are the key ways Dallas can win, or lose, in their first of two battles against the rival Eagles. | From @cdpiglet

During the Dak Prescott era of Dallas Cowboys football, the Philadelphia Eagles have been the primary rival. The Eagles are the best team in the NFC, not just from the standpoint of them winning the NFC last season, but they have the NFL’s current best record at 7-1.

In Week 5, the Cowboys failed the test in San Francisco, losing 42-10 to the 49ers team that has eliminated them from the playoffs the last two seasons. Since then the 49ers have lost three straight, the Eagles have lost a game, and Dallas has beaten both Los Angeles teams. In a game of this magnitude, the Cowboys have to stop certain things Philadelphia is great at and also improve things they haven’t been successfully doing yet. Here is a look at some of those areas the Cowboys must win at to leave Lincoln Financial Field with a victory.

Commanders compete, but don’t make the needed plays in loss to Eagles

Commanders make plays, but not enough in latest loss to Eagles.

Three plays in the final quarter cost the Commanders Sunday when they lost 38-31 to the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field.

Tied 24-24, Washington faced a 2nd & 15 at its 20. Sam Howell had the underneath route open but chose to go to Terry McLaurin. The pass sailed a bit high and was intercepted by Reed Blankenship. Two plays later, the Commanders were down 31-24.

On a 3rd & 8 at the Eagles 40, Howell had McLaurin open and breaking toward the sideline but did not lead him well. The ball was still catchable when McLaurin didn’t make the catch.

On the next play, Howell again had McLaurin for the first down; again, the pass was not the best, but was catchable, and again, McLaurin did not make the play, turning the ball over on downs to the Eagles.

Frankly, another way of looking at the game is remembering the Eagles twice had the ball inside the Washington five and fumbled away possessions, coming away with no points on either possession.

Trailing 17-10, the Eagles drove the 2nd half kickoff 74 yards to the 1-yard line. They called for their famed “Tush Push,” but Jalen Hurts fumbled, and Kendall Fuller recovered for the Commanders.

Earlier in the 2nd quarter, the Commanders led 14-3 when the Eagles drove 68 yards and enjoyed a 1st & goal at Washington’s 3. Kenneth Gainwell got the carry, but Kam Curl stripped Gainwell of the ball, and Phidarian Mathis recovered.

But another aspect of the story was that the Commanders defense couldn’t stop the Eagles all day. Hurts passed for 319 yards, completing 29 of 38 passes for four touchdowns.

A.J. Brown was, again, a man among boys, catching 8 passes for 130 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Sam Howell finished 39-52 for 397 yards, 4 touchdowns, one interception, and one sack. Jahan Dotson led the Commanders with 8 receptions for 108 yards and one touchdown.

With the loss, the Commanders fall to 3-5, and the Eagles are now 7-1.

Frankly, had they played this way in a couple of other games, they would easily be 5-3. But for now, I suppose the phones will be ringing tomorrow as teams seek to trade with the Commanders.

AJ Brown’s stunning one-handed touchdown catch left Eagles fans in awe

Brown’s one-handed touchdown might just be 2023’s catch of the year.

AJ Brown has been instrumental to the Philadelphia Eagles’ rise from borderline playoff participant to Super Bowl contender. His 2022 arrival helped push Jalen Hurts from an average starting quarterback to an MVP candidate. It also unlocked a new level to his game, as he’s gone from Pro Bowl talent to All-Pro candidate in 1.5 seasons on the east coast.

On Sunday, with his Eagles in dire need of a spark trailing 14-3 toward the end of the first half, he put that top gear on full display. With Washington Commanders cornerback Benjamin St-Juste draped all over him, Brown created his own separation, turned and made a stellar, leaping one-handed catch and got both feet down in bounds for six important points.

Hot damn. Let’s see that again.

Good lord. The concentration and body control, particularly in the face of what maaaay have been some light pass interference, makes this one of 2023’s best catches. And fans across the league reacted accordingly.

5 Eagles to watch in Week 8 vs. Commanders

5 Eagles to watch for this weekend’s game vs. the Commanders.

The Washington Commanders (3-4) host the Philadelphia Eagles (6-1) in Week 8. The two rivals met just four weeks ago in Philadelphia in one of the NFL’s most entertaining games of the season. The Commanders took the Eagles to overtime before losing 34-31.

Now, there is a different feeling surrounding Washington. The Commanders took the defending NFC champions to the wire but have since lost to the Chicago Bears and New York Giants — teams that had combined to win one game before they played Washington.

The Eagles are coming off a dominant win over the explosive Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football.

Can Washington take the Eagles to the limit again?

We name five Philadelphia Eagles to watch this weekend.
