Oregon’s 12-0 record on top of the US LBM Coaches poll is like a blinking light in darkness.
The Ducks are the only undefeated team in the country and naturally are the No. 1 team in the last coaches poll in the regular season. Oregon will now prepare to make sure it is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming College Football Playoff.
While Oregon is a staple on top, below the Ducks in the poll is a little bit of chaos. Both Ohio State and Miami suffered losses on Saturday and the latest poll reflects those defeats accordingly. The Buckeyes dropped six spots to No. 8 and the Hurricanes fell seven spots all the way down to No. 14.
The winners of the week were Texas, who moved to No. 2 and Notre Dame, which is now No. 4.
The Ducks’ opponent in the Big Ten title game, Penn State, now stands at No. 3, making the championship game between the Nos. 1 and 3 teams in the country.
Another team that took a significant drop is Clemson as the Tigers fell five spots to No. 17. Despite their loss to South Carolina, the Tigers will play in the ACC title game against SMU, who at 11-1, is ranked seventh.
