The Oregon Ducks just recently finished their disappointing 2021-2022 season, which resulted in a loss to Texas A&M in the second round of the NIT, and already the roster is undergoing some changes.
Center Isaac Johnson has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, according to a report from The Oregonian’s James Crepea.
Johnson initially committed to the Ducks back in November of 2018, joining the team from American Fork, Utah as a four-star prospect and the No. 74 rated player in the in the Class of 2019, according to 247Sports.
However, Johnson did not suit up for coach Dana Altman’s squad until this season, and he appeared in just 13 games for the Ducks, averaging 5.4 minutes per night along with 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.2 assists.
Johnson enters the portal with three years of eligibility and plenty of pedigree from his status as a four-star recruit, not to mention his desirable 7-0, 225 pound build, but with very limited success at the collegiate level so far it’s hard to imagine he lands back at a prominent Power-5 school.
Perhaps BYU, who has one more year in the WCC before they head to Big 12, could be a destination for Johnson as it would reunite him with his older brother, Spencer Johnson, who averaged six points in 20 minutes per game for the Cougars this season.
