On3 recruiting prediction entered in favor of Texas for five-star CB Kobe Black

Kobe Black is a top-20 overall prospect in the nation for the 2024 class.

On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman entered a big prediction for five-star cornerback Kobe Black on Tuesday.

Spiegelman currently views Texas as the favorite to land one of the nation’s top cornerback prospects in the 2024 recruiting class. Although the prediction is at a 55% confidence level, On3’s recruiting prediction machine now lists the Longhorns with a 79.9% chance of landing Black.

“After talking to sources with knowledge of Black’s recruitment, much of the buzz has centered on two teams: the Sooners and the Longhorns,” Spiegelman noted. “Texas has been able to get Black on campus quite a bit over the course of the spring and there’s a lot of buzz around the Longhorns with one of the state’s best defensive backs again.”

Black is rated the No. 3 cornerback in the country for the 2024 cycle and the No. 3 overall prospect in Texas, according to the On3 industry ranking. The Connally High School (Waco, TX) product also plays basketball and runs track.

As a junior in 2022, Black was named a Texas District 11-4A D-II first-team selection at both cornerback and wide receiver.
