Ever since Michigan canceled the game against Ohio State, there has been speculation about the Buckeyes replacing that game with one against another team that is unexpectedly off due to the coronavirus pandemic. Teams like Texas A&M, Cincinnati, and even other Big Ten teams have been discussed.
Another team that has come up just recently because of its game canceled at the eleventh hour against West Virginia on the road, is the two-loss Oklahoma Sooners. A team that could use a win against a top-five opponent to boost its extremely long-shot hopes at the College Football Playoff.
Head coach Lincoln Riley was asked if he would be open to playing Ohio State if it picked up the phone and called, and well, he’s all for it.
Lincoln Riley asked what he would do if Ohio State's Ryan Day called him to play a game this weekend. "We would play." – Riley.

OK? Well, it’s one thing to say that, but the reality is that Riley knows full well it would never happen. He was asked the question two days out from game day, the Big Ten won’t allow teams to play outside the conference, and the logistics are just too tough to pull off.
However, at least the Sooner head man didn’t shy away from the prospect of playing. It would have been a great game to see if the college football world could have pulled it off, but that ship is one that sailed before without even docking.
For now, it looks like Oklahoma will have to focus on the Big 12 Championship Game against Iowa State next weekend. Meanwhile, Ohio State will begin prepping for the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern.
