Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb just announced his intentions to forgo his senior year at Oklahoma and head to the NFL.

“These past three years in Norman have been al I could have imagined and more,” Lamb wrote in his announcement. “I want to start by thanking my coaches for pushing me and challenging me every step of the way. Without your guidance, love and support I wouldn’t be the player or the man I am today.

“To Coach Stoops: thank you for taking a chance on me. Coach Riley and the entire staff, you believed in me from day one and you will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Lamb finished his career at Oklahoma as a Biletnikoff Award finalist for college football’s best receiver. He caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns in his junior season.

Over his Sooners’ career, Lamb caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns in 40 games. The Richmond, Texas, product wasted no time once hitting the ground in Norman, Oklahoma, as he earned a starting job at the X-receiver position as a true freshman while not being an early enrollee.

Every NFL mock draft has Lamb going in the first round, with many having him as a top-10 to top-15 pick.

“You took a kid from Richmond, Texas, and made him your own,” Lamb said. “I’m forever grateful to be a Sooners, and no matter where the future takes me, I will always and forever be a Sooner at heart. You are the backbone of this program and I am going to miss playing in front of of you every Saturday.”

The NFL Draft begins on April 23 from Paradise, Nevada. Lamb could join now-Baltimore Raven Marquise Brown as back-to-back first round NFL Draft picks by a receiver from Oklahoma.
