Nearly two-thirds of this Big 12 season is already played, yet we still don’t really have a clue which two teams will be duking it out in Arlington come season’s end.
Based on the remaining slate, any combination of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas State or Texas shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Any remaining game between two of the teams listed above carries some extra eight as we round the home stretch. Fortunately, there are still four such games in store.
Two weeks from now we get a double-header in the form of Iowa State-Kansas State at 3 p.m. and Bedlam at 6:30. This slate won’t decide the Big 12 but there’s a good chance that it sends two teams packing.
After that, Iowa State faces Texas in week 13 and then Kansas State faces Texas in week 14. By that point, both participants in the Big 12 championship game should be set.
Let’s get right into the projections. For comparison’s sake, here’s last week’s outlook.
The following projections are based on a composite of fifteen different published rating systems and 20,000 simulations of the remaining Big 12 schedule, updated through week seven’s results.
