Oklahoma Sooners open as favorites at home against Kansas

Despite their struggles in recent weeks, the Oklahoma Sooners open as favorites heading into their week seven matchup with the Kansas Jayhawks.

Sure, the [autotag]Kansas Jayhawks[/autotag] lost starting quarterback [autotag]Jalon Daniels[/autotag] in Saturday’s loss to the TCU Horned Frogs, but [autotag]Jason Bean[/autotag] came off the bench and played really well, giving the Jayhawks a chance to win the game at the end.

At the same time, the [autotag]Oklahoma Sooners[/autotag] were getting waxed by the Texas Longhorns for their third straight loss. Another loss in which the defense allowed 40 or more points.

The Sooners were without starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, but that wasn’t the only issue on Saturday in the Cotton Bowl. Gabriel could be back next week when Oklahoma hosts Kansas. But is that enough to put the Sooners as the favorites for the week seven clash?

Well, according to the folks over at BetMGM, yes. BetMGM has the Sooners as 6.5-point favorites against the Jayhawks this Saturday in Norman. If you’re looking at the two teams and where they are at this point in the season, you’d think that line would go the other way. Again, even with Jason Bean at quarterback, the Kansas Jayhawks hung with a TCU team that beat the Sooners 55-24.

The line will fluctuate as the week goes along, but if you’re looking to get in on the action early in the week, take Kansas plus-6.5 and if Oklahoma’s going to have a chance in this game, take the over.
