Oklahoma Softball beats Kansas in 19-0 win, picks up another Big 12 series

Oklahoma Softball picked up a 19-0 win over Kansas led by three home runs and 4 shutout innings from Hope Trautwein.

It’s been a busy day for University of Oklahoma Athletics. Of course, I’m referring to the absolute domination of a victory that happened in Lawrence on Saturday.

Oklahoma Softball smoked the Kansas Jayhawks on the road in a run-rule 19-0 win. OU scored 12 runs in the fifth and final inning of the game.

Throw another win on the pile for redshirt senior Hope Trautwein as she is now 13-0 on the season. After four innings, sophomore Nicole May came in for the fifth and finished the job.

Jocelyn Alo simply cannot be stopped.

The Jayhawks walked her four times, and Alo still collected a hit and four runs. The one hit? A two-run homer.

The Sooners continue to show that they not only have the best pitching in the country, but also the best bats. The Crimson and Cream smashed another three home runs today. Lynnsie Elam and Tiare Jennings also went yard.

After dropping their first game of the season to Texas, OU has rattled off six straight wins. Three of their last four have been by run-rule and four straight have been shutouts. It feels like we’ve typed that a lot this season.

Oklahoma has one more game against Kansas on Sunday before coming home for Bedlam against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls starting on May 5 with the Big 12 regular season title on the line.

Oklahoma State is coming off of back-to-back losses against Florida State in Tallahassee. Before that, they swept the Longhorns in Stillwater.
