One week later, and suddenly the landscape of the Big 12 is almost unrecognizable from where it stood before.
For starters, Oklahoma State, who took a firm grasp on the conference with a victory over Iowa State two weeks ago, fell to Texas at home, opening the door for Oklahoma and Texas to sneak back into the conversation.
Here’s the best part: that’s the second-craziest thing that happened last week. The craziest was West Virginia’s 37-10 rout of Kansas State, the Wildcats’ first conference loss.
These results benefit Oklahoma in terms of optics as much as concrete results. The ideas that Texas is better than we thought and that Oklahoma State and Kansas State are worse than we thought bode very well for the Sooners.
Let’s get right into the projections. For comparison’s sake, here’s last week’s outlook.
The following projections are based on a composite of ten different published rating systems and 20,000 simulations of the remaining Big 12 schedule, updated through week seven’s results.
