Oklahoma fans get Texas’ Tom Herman trending on Twitter on OU-Texas week

If you get on Twitter, you’ll find that Tom Herman is trending. Not because Texas’ head coach did anything, but because OU fans are tweeting

Ah, OU-Texas week.

There really is nothing like it. Sure, a pandemic has taken the one-of-a-kind atmosphere away from the game inside the Cotton Bowl at the Texas State Fair. Doesn’t help that both teams are coming into this game off of a loss (Oklahoma with two-straight losses).

The luster is lost with Texas being ranked in the 20s and Oklahoma being unranked, but that doesn’t change the rivalry. The hate is real and anyone that’s been at the OU-Texas game knows as such.

But the lead-up to the game all week is typically filled with both fan bases taking jabs at each other on social media. Who knows why it wasn’t the same this week, but Oklahoma fans have picked up the slack on Thursday.

Texas’ head coach Tom Herman is trending on Twitter. Not because he spoke at a press conference or did a media opportunity, but because Oklahoma fans have started to tweet satire about him.

No, seriously. Just look at Twitter.

It all started with fan-favorite Oklahoma Twitter account ‘Blinkin Riley’. He typically sticks to posting crazy stats that put down Oklahoma State and Texas, but not this week.

There are thousands of these kind of tweets out there since this morning.

This is a minuscule amount of what’s out there. It’s starting to feel a little like OU-Texas week.

Thank goodness.
