Oklahoma commit Jackson Arnold to compete in Elite 11 Finals

After receiving five-star status earlier this week, OU QB commit Jackson Arnold set to compete in Elite 11 finals at the end of June.

Despite all of the turnover that occurred last winter, the Oklahoma Sooners quarterback situation in the present and in the future looks really good.

Dillon Gabriel is the starter for 2022 and they’ve got Davis Beville and four-star signee for 2021 Nick Evers in the building as well.

While they lost Malachi Nelson when Lincoln Riley left for USC, the Sooners earned a commitment from Denton Buyer’s Jackson Arnold. Arnold, who had been recruited by new offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, reached out through Guyer’s recruiting coordinator and the Sooners pursued Arnold. It didn’t take long for Arnold to commit to the Sooners. As he prepares for his senior season, Arnold is competing with the best quarterbacks in the country in the Elite 11 camps

Gabe Brooks of 247Sports outlined the 11 quarterbacks taking place in the Elite 11 finals at the end of June. Here’s what he had to say about Arnold’s performance from the semifinals in March.

Right there at the top of the group, Arnold lived up to the billing with a quality that he has repeatedly displayed in live game action — making not-so-easy things look pretty easy. Arnold owns a stout base and a baseball background that combine to give him plenty of torque and throw power in off-schedule situations, which he showed in rollout drills and in set-and-fire downfield drills that restrict drop-back, load-up momentum. Additionally, he changes arm angles with relative ease. – Brooks, 247Sports

Arnold recently received five-star status from the 247Sports Composite Rankings and spoke recently about how the coaching turnover led to his pursuit of the Oklahoma Sooners on the Locked On Sooners Podcast.
