Making eight starts in the final eight games of the season, Bonitto has an opportunity to become a cornerstone of the Oklahoma defense.

Redshirting his freshman year and playing in just three contests in 2018, Bonitto has earned a role for Alex Grinch and the Sooners at outside linebacker.

A four-star recruit in the 2018 class, Bonitto has 49 career tackles, four passes defended, three and a half sacks, six and a half tackles for loss, and an interception that helped seal the 25-point comeback against Baylor in Waco last season.

Bonitto’s career-high for tackles is six, which he recorded against Houston in Week 1 of 2019. He has had four games of which he has recorded at least five tackles.
