Ohio State 73, Maryland 14
Ohio State’s 73 points were the most the school has scored in a Big Ten game since scoring 83 vs Iowa in 1950. It was the Buckeyes’ second-highest point total in a Big Ten game in the AP Poll era began in 1936. Maryland, a team that gave the Buckeyes headaches last season was no trouble this time, even as Ohio State was without the fierce pass-rushing of Chase Young. The preseason All-American was suspended the day before the game while Ohio State investigated a possible NCAA violation involving a loan.
