Ohio State vs. Alabama national championship game tickets will be limited and costly

You’ll need deep pockets if you want to see the Ohio State Buckeyes take on Alabama for the College Football Playoff national championship.

Fresh off a thorough dismantling of Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State will travel to Miami to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide for a national championship.

Few fans were able to see the Buckeyes take care of the Tigers in person at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as tickets were limited to only 3,000. It was quite a sight, seeing so few spectators in such a large venue, but I’m sure the team was happy to hear the cheers after the Big Ten allowed no fans during the regular season.

If you’re hoping to catch OSU in Miami, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is, there will be more tickets available for the national title game – approximately 16,000. The bad news… most of the tickets are being allotted to players and coaching families, while the remaining tickets will be dispersed to students and donors reported by Columbus Dispatch writer Bill Rabinowitz.

Families and OSU students should have the first opportunity to attend the game. However, there are always some entrepreneurs looking to cash in as well. So, if you’ve got some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, you can head over to StubHub and check out the selection of tickets available.

But be warned… the prices are steep with the least expensive ticket going for just over $1,000 at this time and the more desirable seats going north of $7,000. There’s something nice celebrating in the stands with other fans, but to get to this game, you’ll need some deep pockets.

And if you’re like most of us and can’t afford to take out a second mortgage on your home… well, the game will look great on your high def TV as well.
