Ohio State unmoved in Joel Klatt’s weekly top ten

Joel Klatt still has respect for Buckeyes despite not playing this weekend. He still has Ohio State right near the top of his rankings.

It was like waking up on Christmas morning and seeing no presents under the tree having the Ohio State football game canceled so late on Friday night. What a gut punch when you look forward to something all week only to have the rug ripped out from under your feet. On the bright side, I did get some things done around the house (insert eye-roll here).

I do applaud Ohio State for taking these matters seriously and doing their best to keep players and coaches safe. And as disappointed as fans are not seeing the Buckeyes play, I’m sure the team is even more disappointed.

With that said, let’s look on the bright side of things. There are still those who believe that Ohio State, even with only four games under its belt, is still one of the top teams in the country. FOX’s Joel Klatt happens to be one of those people.

Klatt kept the Buckeyes at No. 3 on his weekly list ahead of one-loss Clemson who welcomed back Trevor Lawrence yesterday in an easy win over Pitt. Even though Klatt’s opinion is just that, it’s still nice to see Ohio State getting respect from the national media guys.

We’ll see if the playoff committee is as friendly on Tuesday evening when the official rankings come out and how much slack they’ll cut the Buckeyes for things that are out of their control. On to Michigan State… fingers crossed.
