Ohio State hit a home run when it got Will Kacmarek out of the transfer portal from Ohio University. While Kacmarek may not be a high-end pass-catching prospect, he adds a ton of help in both run blocking and pass protection.
Kacmarek missed a good portion of the season after sustaining an upper-body injury in the first Oregon game that left his left arm in a sling. He would miss four games before making his way back on the field against Indiana.
The transfer from Athens can make a difference in the passing game when needed. In three years with the Bobcats, Kacmarek hauled in 42 receptions for 507 yards and two touchdowns over 27 career games. He has caught six passes for 65 yards this season with the Buckeyes.

Getting Kacmarek back is a big boost for Ohio State. He will add more depth to a unit that will lack a great deal of experience after losing fifth-year senior Gee Scott Jr. The Buckeyes also added Purdue transfer Max Klare to help with the tight end duties. Klare pulled in 51 receptions for 685 yards and four touchdowns for the Boilermakers.
