Ohio State is hoping to hear some good news Wednesday as the No. 5 safety in the country, Xavier Nwankpa, will announce his college destination at 5 p.m. EST from his high school auditorium. Nwankpa trimmed his list to three schools in October which included the Buckeyes, Iowa, and Notre Dame.
Nwankpa’s predictions have been all over the place. The Irish were seen as the early front runner, then Ohio State started to gain some momentum, and now it seems the Hawkeyes may have the upper hand. Kirk Ferentz made an in-home visit on Monday to make sure he had the last word with the Iowa native.

The crystal ball predictions seem pretty high in favor of the Hawkeyes, but sometimes these things come down to last-minute decisions. Maybe the announcement of new defensive coordinator, Jim Knowles, will help sway the young man to Columbus.
