We all know Ohio State is a cash cow. The athletic department continually brings in millions each and every year. When the NCAA opened the flood gates for NIL to change the college sports landscape, OSU was ready to lead the way. And lead they did.
Ohio State was one of the first to create a NIL team to assist student-athletes in managing this new frontier. It seems that the University’s efforts are literally paying off for athletes in scarlet and gray. The Buckeye’s official NIL Twitter page recently announced that they surpassed 1000 NIL deals for student-athletes in year one.

That’s an impressive stat no matter how you look at it. And whether you’re a fan of NIL or are begrudgingly digging your feet in, this new landscape is here to stay.
If this is the future of “amateur” athletics, The Ohio State University is embracing and leveraging it for all its worth. And for young kids who have dreams of becoming rich and famous, Columbus is now a destination spot for any recruit looking to make a name for themselves.
